Alice Brinth (b. 1995, based in Bordeaux, France) is a French painter working in oil on canvas and wood. Her practice is rooted in landscape and atmosphere painting, investigating themes of perception, imminence and the limits of the visible. She creates contemplative artworks often carrying a feeling of rupture that leaves something unsettled.
Drawing from the tradition of Romantic and metaphysical painting, her work strips the natural world of any human presence, carrying a tension between the familiar and the unresolved.
Raised near the forest of Chevreuse, near Paris, and shaped by six years in Copenhagen, Denmark, Alice Brinth committed fully to her painting practice in 2021. Her work has since been shown in divers group and solo exhibitions in France.
