Alice Brinth (b. 1995, based in Bordeaux, France) is a painter working in oil on canvas and wood. In her contemplative and enigmatic compositions, her practice is rooted in landscape and atmosphere painting, investigating themes of perception, imminence and the limits of the visible. Drawing from the tradition of Romantic and metaphysical painting, her work strips the natural world of any human presence, carrying a tension between the familiar and the unresolved.
Raised near the forest of Chevreuse and shaped by six years in Copenhagen, Denmark, Alice Brinth committed fully to her painting practice in 2021. Her work has since been shown in group and solo exhibitions in France.
